It’s official: Winter has definitely arrived, so who wouldn’t want to cozy up to The Curious Squire, warmed by a fireplace and tasting their new winter menu? We definitely jumped at the opportunity when Girl About Town invited us to the Eat & Tweet event late last week.
The event was a sit-down dinner the showcased many dishes off the new menu, and it’s fair to say we certainly did not leave with empty stomachs. From the selection of food provided, there were some personal favourites of ours that were definite stand-out dishes.
For entree, our favourite was the Mac and Cheese Balls – yep, you heard it right! Bringing together true American style food to the cusp of North Adelaide, the dish was a mixture of Mac and Cheese and Arancini balls.
Soon after, three different types of American style sliders were brought out, which were mini representations of the three new burgers titled the original Curious Burger with beef, the Mother Clucker with chicken and Happy Cow (Vegetarian Option).
Of the three, our preferred burger was the Curious Burger. The meat was perfectly tender and the slight sweetness from the pickle and mayo was delightful. Although, I would have like a tad more seasoning.
As guests began to char among themselves, you could certainly tell the food was being enjoyed by the 30 attendees.
To conclude the cool winter evening, guests were served a dish definitely no one had tried before. Sides of deep fried oreos were served along wish pancakes – a fantastic way to end a dining event. The deep fried oreos were definitely a first for us and we’d certainly have them again!
This winter season, why not cozy down to The Curious Squire at North Adelaide for a delicious American-style feast.
