The Boss of Gelati

Even though winter has officially arrived in Adelaide, you don’t need an excuse to get some cheeky gelati. Located just a short 15 minute drive from the CBD in the suburb of Rostrevor, the hidden boss of gelati is worth leaving the house for (even if it’s freezing cold outside) With an impressive range of frozen desserts as well as artisan gelato and sorbet all freshly made on premises, Gelati Boss is not just your average gelati shop.

As soon as you walk into the gelati enthused store, you’ll notice the attention to detail with the interior décor: stylish yet traditional with a contemporary twist. I particularly love the large black and white collection of images on the wall, which displays the traditional background of how gelati was originally served in Italy decades ago. I also love the look of the wooden crates hanging on the wall to display items, it ties in perfectly with the traditional feel of the shop.

Gelati boss offers a unique and exciting range of gelati and sorbet flavours to choose from, making it such a hard decision to choose which flavours to try! Flavours are based on seasonality, making them all unique and sometimes different at every visit. Customers can enjoy their gelati in a cup, waffle cone or you can even purchase a 1 litre take away tub to share with family at home! This time round, I had a gelati cup with a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of lemon, you may think I choose boring flavours but they are my favourite and I just couldn’t resist! I think I choose pretty wisely as they did not disappoint…the chocolate was rich and creamy and the lemon was nice and bitty, just the way I like it.

The aim at Gelati Boss is to produce the highest quality gelato and sorbet and are all about local, seasonality and freshness. This is evident the second you try their incredible gelati, you really can taste the freshness!

The range of creative hand crafted frozen desserts is also very impressive. Choose from a variety of gelati cookies, gelato sticks, Artisan Ice Pops, Gelati Cannoli, Tartufo and Cassata. I couldn’t leave without trying the gelati cannoli filled with Nutella goodness. It was amazing! If you’re a Nutella lover like myself you need to try this!

On top of all the yummy frozen desserts and gelati, coffee and milk shakes are also available. But that’s not all Gelati Boss has to offer, they even make gelati cakes for special occasions.

Ultimately, Gelati Boss’ gelati, sorbets and frozen desserts are without a doubt second to none. All items are well priced and the customer service is also excellent which just added to a fantastic first experience at Gelati Boss. So do yourself a favour and don’t let the cold stop you from trying all Gelati Boss has to offer this winter! Everything Adelaide will definitely be back to try the newest addition to the menu; the churro basket and gelati, it looks mouth-watering and we can’t wait to try it! Until next time.
